About U

Penderlea Park Equine Services is a boutique business inspired by our passion and love for horses. Founded by Mady Muirhead, Penderlea Park Equine Services hopesto provide our clients with the training they and their horses need to also become successful competitors in their chosen disciplines.

Since a young age, founder Mady Muirhead has loved and lived horses. She got her first pony, a 10hh Shetland named Brutus, at age 6. Brutus taught Mady the most important thing with her riding, how to stay on! He was an awesome little pony and to this day, Mady still owns Brutus and he is being leased out to teach yet another young girl to ride.

After Brutus, Mady got an old pony named Taffy. Taffy was the perfect second pony, and at 13hh, the what seemed like gentle giant took extremely good care of Mady. Next came a young riding pony x arab mare named Sharni.

Sharni was the horse that really taught Mady how to ride and deal with the difficult ones. She was a young, green, fiery animal and her and Mady worked very hard together and within a few years went on to represent Alice Springs Pony Club at the Ponyclub State Championships in showjumping and games.

Then came Penny, or Penderlea Breeanna, the namesake of this equine business. Penny was Mady's first 'real' horse.  From day dot there was a strong bond between Penny and Mady and since then they have become extremely successful competitors. Competing predominantly in dressage, Mady and Penny never placed out of the top three at a dressage competition and continually scored in the high 60's.

Penny is a Cleveland Bay Sporthorse and the reason for Mady’s love of Cleveland Bays. She is a sweet, kind yet strong mare and at age 21, Penny is now semi retired and running with a Cleveland Bay stallion in hope of getting into foal. Mady and Penny have become best friends and always greet each other with a hello and a whinny and a good cuddle and scratch.

Mady now has a young 18.1hh thoroughbred named Sebbi whom she is bringing on as an eventer. Aswell as her own horses, Mady has always worked with other peoples horses as well as always making time for hers. Whether its just riding them for exercise, training them, competing them or breaking them in, Mady has always been an active member of the horse communities she is associated with.

All of Mady's horses have taught her the importance of hard work and training with any horse and Mady has gone on to be a successful dressage and show rider for various horse studs within South Australia including riding and showing stallions and yearlings.

Penderlea Park itself is located at Bruce, South Australia, however as Mady travels around Penderlea Park Equine Services service South Australia as well as Victoria.
